Companies play an important role in Ocean preservation

Through their operations, offers and relationships with stakeholders, companies have a direct or indirect impact, on the health of marine and coastal ecosystems (greenhouse gas emissions, waste production, etc.). They can become agents for a protected Ocean by changing their operating ways and by influencing the behaviour of their suppliers, distributors, employees and clients.

17 Goals to change the world

To face environmental and societal challenges, the UN has proposed 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to be achieved by 2030. In just a few years, the SDGs have become the usual guidelines for corporate CSR. However, SDG no. 14, which aims to “conserve and sustainably use the oceans”, has been largely forgotten by French and international companies. Why is this? The ocean feels distant, the impact measurement tools non-existent and the solutions complex.
