Let’s all become actors of the protection of marine biodiversity

The soscorail.org website features scientifically validated and impactful projects for the protection and restoration of coral reefs, seagrass beds and mangroves in the French overseas territories. Individuals and companies alike support a project, a region or the whole program.

Coral reefs, mangroves and seagrass beds are jewels of biodiversity. They play a vital role for marine biodiversity and are also crucial for local communities by providing coastal protection from storms, food supply and a source of income.

On a global scale, these ecosystems are under serious threat: half of them have already disappeared, whilst 25% of marine species depend directly on them for their survival.

The SOS Coral programme is run in partnership with the Ministry of Ecological Transition and the Ministry of Overseas Territories, which chair over the IFRECOR (French Coral Reef Initiative).
